When you play a certain recognition for your current level of the violin, then the simplest and most practical way is is to take a graded test. There are 2 motherboards that give these exams: Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM (Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music) to. They are well respected boards that hold the violin trials around the world for people to take.
The Trinity Guildhall Examinations Board offers 9: first class, class 1 and so on, until the last one on 8 Grade. However, you mustPass into a grade 8 theory exam to be able to test for grade 8 violin apply themselves. The board has 8 ABRSM exams - from all the way from the first class (it is empty for first grade) until further processing at the 8th Grade. Also you now have a class 5 theory test before doing that grade 6 exam.
In all Trinity Guildhall Examinations Board you are on 7 topics: 3 pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight reading, viva voce (voice) and ear marked tests (listening). The topics all have amaximum mark which extends up to 100. It can happen, but there are 2 other types of cards that you will be able to achieve: merit and distinction, which show you would be transferred to a higher level.
The ABRSM board marks on 6 subjects: 3 pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight reading and aural tests. The maximum mark for these tests is 150, but you must pass to receive 100, 120 with merit or 130 is passed with distinction.
Both cards theory tests is all about reading,writing and analyzing music through knowledge about the various clefs, transposition, melodic intervals, name and designation of key chords.
